Endorsed Candidates

Endorsed candidates are those whose platforms align with RILPAC's policy priorities (below).

As members of our community declare their candidacy for elected positions, RILPAC will be scoring them on how they rank on Latino issues. Come back to the RILPAC website often to see what candidates make the cut.

Policy Priorities

RILPAC selects its policy priorities by voting on the recommendations of the Platform Committee at monthly Board and Member meetings. RILPAC's platform for 2018 centers on education, immigration, healthcare, equity, and more. Check back often for updates.

policy ISSUE:

A 2017 report by the Annie Casey Foundation found prospects for Latinx children in Rhode Island to be the worst across the nation. RILPAC supports an education system that provides all our state's children with the targeted supports they need to succeed, and advocates for equitable structures that provide much-needed services in vulnerable communities.

policy ISSUE:

In 2017, the Trump administration announced plans to roll back Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, removing protections for nearly 800,000 young people brought to the United States as children. RILPAC supports the continuation of DACA and advocates for comprehensive immigration reform, including a permanent path to citizenship for our state and nation's DREAMers.
